In my work with families, there is a focus on the relationship of the couple, on the relationship of parent to child, and on the relationship with your own parents-since this is so often the source of your emotional patterns for all of your relationships. The purpose of our work together is to help you create the loving and supportive relationships you really want with your children.
As it is so poignantly pointed out time and again in "Will You Still Love Me If I Don't Win?", learning about emotions and becoming more sensitive to your childrens' needs are fundamental elements of parenting.
There is great joy and fulfillment in creating the relationships you want. In our work together, we will use the tremendously effective techniques offered in "Will You Still Love Me If I Don't Win?", as well as other methods, to deal with constricting emotions and patterns of behavior.
PARENTS
- Become more aware of how you are affecting your children and learn to relate to them differently.
- Change your limiting patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that restrict your relationships with your children.
- Learn to identify, feel, express and heal your constricting feelings such as anger, fear, disappointment, hurt and shame.
- Learn how to respond rather than react to your children.
- Heal your past so you can stop passing it down to your children.
ADOLESCENTS
- Learn how to identify, feel, and express their feelings such as disappointment, fear and anger, in a constructive way.
- Build self-esteem and self-understanding.
- Improve their relationships with friends, family members, coaches, etc.
- Change limiting patterns of behavior.
- Accept themselves, including the parts they judge so severely.
- Learn how to talk to others about their feelings.
